College Division

The College is the legal body incorporating all registered and inducted Fellows and Members of specialties and sub-specialties within the professional areas of medicine and surgery, with common principles, values and interests.  It has two divisions:  The Division of the College of Physicians and The Division of the College of Surgeons which are made up of Faculties.

THE DIVISION OF THE COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS

The Division of Physicians presently comprise 4 Faculties and is headed by the Vice President for Physicians and consists of:

  • Faculty of Internal Medicine
  • Faculty of Pediatrics
  • Faculty of Family Medicine
  • Faculty of Psychiatry
  • Faculty of Community Medicine

THE DIVISION OF THE COLLEGE OF SURGEONS

The Division of Surgeons presently comprise 3 Faculties and is headed by the Vice President for Surgeons and consists of:

  • Faculty of General Surgery
  • Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Faculty of Ophthalmology

Joint Faculty Board

The College has a joint Faculty Board chaired by LCPS President and include the Vice President for Physicians, the Vice President for Surgeons, Faculty Chairs and 2 members of each Faculty. The Faculty Board is charged with developing and implementing the academic programs of the College.
